So I woke up to an unseasonably late April muggy day in Michigan, and looked at my phone for the latest headlines. I usually browse CNN, Politicalwire, HuffPost, the Drudge Report (he doesnt like Trump now I can see what the other side is thinking sometimes without Nazi content), and yours truly, the Daily Kos.
Well, lo and behold, tidings of gloom greeted me on CNN. A new CNN poll shows 61% of the American people think Biden’s presidency has been a failure so far. Even more scary, 54% of Americans now say Trump’s presidency was a success. Biden is given very bad marks on the economy, foreign policy, and the war in Gaza, among other things. He loses to Trump 49%-43% overall, and even loses to Trump by 51-40% among voters under 35! Those who did not vote in 2020, whom I assume are young new voters, are breaking heavily towards Trump.
From the CNN poll:
“In the Biden vs. Trump matchup, the poll finds Biden faring worse than in previous CNN polls among the youngest voters, trailing Trump by a 51%-to-40% margin among voters younger than 35. Biden’s deficit with voters in that group is driven largely by those who did not vote in 2020. With that group excluded, voters between the ages of 18 and 34 in this poll divide 46% for Biden to 47% for Trump.”
I have been sounding the alarm for a long, long time on this blog about Joe Biden. This site is full of the Biden fan club. Memes of “Dark Brandon”, although a lot less common lately, are everywhere. 53% of Democrats in the poll disapprove of Biden’s handling of Gaza. Overall, only 28% of Americans approve of Biden’s handling of Gaza, and only 34% approve of his handling of the economy, always among the either #1 or among the top issues for Americans.
I dont have the financial means to flee the country. I hope with all my heart that conditions change, the country comes to its senses, but I’m not expecting or counting on it. Biden’s approval rating has remained stubbornly negative for almost the entire time of his presidency, except for his very early months. People here underestimate the damage Biden’s policies on Israel/Gaza has done to him among the young and others. Also, the pace of inflation has gone down, but prices for essentials like rent, gas, and food have not gone down and are at levels causing hardship to many millions of Americans. So the question is, what in the hell are we going to do when it looks like it we may be about 6 months away from fascism and disaster?
See for yourself, the situation is bleak indeed!
